We are a family-owned business with over 25 years of experience. At Isle of Canty Kennels, we take pride in being licenced breeders by Fife Council who undergo annual inspections. This rigorous process ensures that we uphold the highest standards in the care and breeding of our dogs. Our commitment to quality and excellence guarantees that each puppy is raised in a safe and nurturing environment. Our mission is to provide you with a loyal and loving companion for life.
We breed Working English Springer Spaniels, Working Cocker Spaniels, Working Labrador Retrievers and the occasional cockapoo.
Our pups are raised in our purpose built kennels ensuring they are well-socialised and ready for their forever homes
Buying a puppy is a big decision , we are here to help with more information.
Working Labrador Retrievers are outgoing, intelligent, trusting, loving, gentle and agile dogs and are also strong dogs, if not trained properly they can drag their new owners down the street! As labradors are working dogs they have an urge to retrieve. Because of this chewing can become a problem as they can have an oral fixation. Mental stimulation as well as giving them string chew toys and bones at a young age can prevent the urge to chew things they aren't supposed to chew!
Working English Springer Spaniels are affectionate, intelligent, active, attentive and alert dogs. Springers like to be with people and like having a job. They are easy to train but can have digging problems if left alone to become bored as they do not do well not being active. Giving a springer a specific place to dig such as sand pit or a specific plant pot to dig in will prevent destructive digging. Introducing the sand pit at a young age is a great place to start!
Working Cocker Spaniel's are affectionate, loving, playful, easy to train, friendly and faithful dogs. They are lively but easy going. Cockers love to fetch, so throwing a stick or ball they will be happy. The problem with this is they have high prey drive, they can tend to chase smaller animal's. This can be trained out of them as they are dogs who like a job. You can teach them too when appropriate to chase, like after a ball and not the pigeon at the park! You can start at an early age.
In addition to our other breeds, Isle of Canty Kennels occasionally offers delightful Cockapoo litters. These charming crossbreeds combine the best traits of Cocker Spaniels and Poodles, resulting in intelligent, friendly and active. Our Cockapoos are raised in our purpose built kennels as all our pups ensuring they are well-socialised and ready for their forever homes.
The health and well-being of our dogs and puppies is our top priority at Isle of Canty Kennels.
